Eighteen year old Trey Watson was senior at Lincoln High School, who tragically passed away on Saturday night of January 23, 2010. According to the Florida Highway Patrol the two car crash occurred on Interstate 10 near Olson Road. The car Watson was in collided with a vehicle driven by Michael Wade, fifty-seven, of Okeechobee. The driver of the car in which Watson was riding in, was a friend of Watson’s named W.L. Zaire C. Smith, eighteen, and who was listed as being in serious condition at the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Smith graduated from Lincoln in 2009 and was a defensive lineman for the Trojans. The Florida Highway Patrol also say that Watson was killed when the car he was riding in crossed the center median into on coming traffic, when Wade’s truck crashed into Smith’s car. Everyone in Smith’s car was wearing seat belts, except for Watson. This is a very heartbreaking reminder that wearing your seat belt is vital.

In essence, many loved ones of Trey’s have came forward this past week to honor his life and remember the kind and fun loving person he was. Many have talked about the kind of athlete he was on Lincoln’s football defensive line and the kind of personality he had. “I have played against Trey Watson throughout my high school career at Chiles, but I only knew him on a personal level for a short period of time. I played on his team in the Florida vs. Georgia All-star game, and for the week that we practiced and got to know each other I got to see what a great human being and athlete he was. There’s really no other person I’ve met quite like him. His personality, sense of humor, and hard working attitude shined through every time I saw him. Trey was an amazing athlete but an even more amazing person,” says Nathan Snow. Trey had planned on going to Jacksonville University and even officially visited the campus the previous weekend to his death. There has been a Facebook page dedicated to Trey’s remembrance and was created for loved ones to write things they remember about him. Tremayne Watson will always be remembered and he will be loved forever!
